Dual Skilled Apprenticeship (Mechanical and Electrical) – Machine Assembly Fitters.
Successful applicants will receive training in all mechanical and electrical aspects of assembly of TBS automated battery assembly equipment to attain a high level of competency, working within a team or working alone using their own initiative. You will liaise with our design team to solve problems as machines are developed and assembled. As part of the training, you will learn to:
- Read and understand engineering drawings
- Plan and prepare for assembly/fitting activities
- Apply techniques and procedures to assemble machine parts and sub-assemblies
- Understand materials and their use within the structural assembly and engineering process
- Produce components using drilling, milling and turning procedures
- Understand and adhere to safe workshop practice
- Complete all aspects of NVQ and academic work to deadlines
You may also be required to undertake additional tasks or duties from time to time and which are reasonably within your capabilities.
Hours per working week – Year 1 – 37 hours, Year 2-4 – 38.25 to 39 (subject to age)
Paid hours of work per week – As above, paid monthly
Number of positions available – Three
Expected apprenticeship duration – Four Years
